I was fortunate to grow up in a family of psychotherapists and counselors where emotional expression, self-awareness, and personal growth were highly valued. This foundation along with my own healing journey and therapeutic work gives me a unique understanding of what it is to be both therapist and client.
My family and upbringing exposed me to culturally and spiritually diverse groups of people through travel, interfaith initiatives, and social and environmental justice campaigns.
My interest and curiosity about the human identity, psyche, and relationships have been constantly evolving as I move through my own life as a sister, daughter, friend, professional, student, and partner. My relationships with others continue to be the most important and fulfilling part of my life.
As a therapist, I try first and foremost to develop safe, non-judgmental, and trusting relationships with you. As we move into doing therapeutic work, I help explore your experiences, including the joy, pleasure, fun, and success that can be seen as the leaves, branches, and blossoms of a tree. I also work to gently uncover the more shadow elements of life; the challenges, pain, feelings of being stuck, and even positive aspects of ourselves that we don't acknowledge, that can be seen as the root system of a tree. These often lay below the surface, hidden, ignored, and resisted. Without one part of the tree, the other cannot exist. In this way, I see the importance of acknowledging the whole and complete self, so that these parts can be integrated, nourished, and healed.
